Beat the Morning Rush With Omelets and More at Uptown Cafe

Even if you regularly use the on- and off-ramps to Crain Highway at Melford Boulevard, you might not realize that one of Bowie’s hidden gems is right under your nose. Located in a non-descript office building just off the traffic circle, Uptown Cafe is one of those hidden gems that works its way into the daily routines of local nine-to-fivers.

Uptown opens its doors at 7:30 a.m. every weekday and slings coffee and breakfast items (the omelets are particularly popular) for the morning rush. After 11, the shop transitions to its lunch menu, featuring a selection of deli sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and salads. Yelpers recommend the tuna melt and Reuben sandwich, both served with crispy golden fries. You’ll also find a rotating selection of daily lunch specials at the hot bar (make sure to get Mr. Lee’s bulgogi while it lasts.) Uptown can also prepare party platters and catering services for birthdays, family reunions, school fundraisers, and corporate events.
